The Marshall Thundering Herd and the Toledo Rockets meet in college hoops action from Savage Arena on Tuesday night.

The Marshall Thundering Herd will look to bounce back from a 75-60 loss to Northern Iowa last time out. Taevion Kinsey leads the Herd in scoring with 19.8 PPG along with 5.1 RPG and 3.8 APG while Obinna Anochili-Killen has 13.4 PPG and a team-high 7.2 RPG to lead Marshall on the glass. Andrew Taylor has 12.9 PPG with 6.2 RPG and a team-high 5.6 APG to lead the Herd in assists and round out the group of double-digit scorers for Marshall so far this season. Darius George also has 9.2 PPG and 5.6 RPG as well this season. As a team, Marshall is averaging 79.7 PPG on 45.7% shooting from the field, 28.7% from three and 71.1% from the foul line while allowing 73.6 PPG on 41.8% shooting from the field and 32.6% from three this season.

The Toledo Rockets will look to bounce back from a 72-69 loss at the hands of Richmond in their last game. Ryan Rollins leads the Rockets in scoring with 19.3 PPG along with 4.8 RPG and 3.5 APG while Setric Millner Jr. has 15 PPG with 6.4 RPG and JT Shumate has 14.7 PPG with a team-high 7.3 RPG to lead the Rockets on the glass. RayJ Dennis has 11.3 PPG with 5.9 RPG and a team-high 3.9 APG to lead the Rockets in assists up to this point in the season. As a team, Toledo is averaging 76.4 PPG on 45.4% shooting from the field, 33.2% from three and 75.1% from the foul line while allowing 69.1 PPG on 41.8% shooting from the field and 31.4% from three this season.

Marshall is 0-6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following an ATS loss and 0-3-2 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU loss while the under is 7-1 in their last 8 Tuesday games. Toledo is 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 home games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 home games.

I get the case to be made for either side here, but I’m going to side with the over. Both teams are scoring into the 70s this season and these are two of the weaker scoring defenses in the country so far this season. The over has also hit in five of six meetings with three overtime games in there as well so give me the over in this one.
