This will be a rematch of Monday’s game; the Tigers managed a seven-point win in that one. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Delaware managed a 10-5 run over their first 15 games this year, losing to Davidson, Oakland, Temple, Iona and UNC Wilmington in that time. It’s been a 4-2 run over the last six games for the Hens; they’ve fallen to Hofstra and Towson during that stretch.
In the Towson matchup on Monday, Delaware posted 29 points in the first half and 33 more in the second on the way to a 69-62 defeat. Leading team scorer Andrew Carr put up 13 points and four rebounds. Ebby Asamoah added 12 points and six boards as well.
Over on the Towson side, they’ve been a very consistent team so far this year and haven’t lost consecutive games yet. The Tigers have been on a 6-1 run in their last seven, beating Northeastern, Hofstra, Elon, William & Mary, Charleston and Delaware in that time.
Towson stayed steady in the Monday win, scoring 31 points in the first half and 38 more after the break. The Tigers’ leading scorer was Cameron Holden on 19 points and seven rebounds. Nicolas Timberlake added 18 points and six rebounds in the victory.
Towson is 16-5 ATS in the last 21 overall and 11-3 ATS in their last 14 after an ATS win. The under is 5-1 in the Tigers’ last six Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Hens are 1-4 ATS in the last five overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss. The over is 5-1 in Delaware’s last six road games.
PICK: I’m probably going to stick with Towson. The Tigers shot a solid 44.4 percent in Monday’s game, out-rebounding the Hens 35-29. Towson has posted some pretty good offensive numbers during this 7-1 stretch as well. They’ve hit 69 or more points in seven of those eight outings.
As for Delaware, they didn’t shoot to badly overall in the Monday game (42.6 percent) but made just five of 26 3-point attempts (19.2 percent) and couldn’t keep up. I like this rematch to be another competitive outing, with Towson eking out a late cover.
