The Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens and the Towson Tigers meet Sunday in CAA Tournament college basketball action from Entertainment & Sports Arena. Delaware is 17-15 on the season so far and beat Northeastern in their Saturday tournament matchup. Delaware Blue Hens
Delaware hit a .500 stretch over their first 24 outings this year, going 12-12 overall. The Hens managed a 4-3 record to close out the season, beating Stony Brook, UNC Wilmington, NC A&T and Elon with losses to Drexel, Towson and Charleston.
On Saturday in the tournament matchup versus Northeastern, the Hens scored 38 points in the first half, 34 in the second and five in overtime for a 77-74 victory. Jameer Nelson scored 28 points and Jyare Davis doubled on 21 points and 14 assists.
Towson Tigers
Over on the Towson side, they managed a 16-8 run through their first 24 games of the year. The Tigers finished off the year on a 4-3 run with wins over Hampton, Delaware, NC A&T and UNC Wilmington alongside losses to Drexel, William & Mary and Charleston.
Last Saturday versus UNC Wilmington, the Tigers took a 35-25 deficit into the break. Towson caught fire on a 32-17 second-half run however and came back for the 57-53 win. Cameron Holden doubled up on 22 points and 11 rebounds in the victory.

I’ll probably take a stab on Towson here. The Tigers started slow against a good Seahawks team last weekend, however they found their groove in the second half to finish off the regular season on a high note. Towson has scored 75 or more points in three of their last four games, going 3-1 in that stretch. These teams split their two regular-season meetups, with the home team taking the victory each time. Delaware won on January 11 72-59 and Towson took the win 95-72 on February 16. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Hens take this one, so I’m probably staying away. It’ll be a competitive matchup.
