Northeastern Huskies
Northeastern started out on a 6-10 skid, beating Manhattan, Georgia State, Holy Cross, Davidson, NC A&T and Hampton in that time. The Huskies would then beat Delaware and Stony Brook before another loss to Charleston.
In the Saturday game versus Charleston, Northeastern was drilled 42-26 in the first half. The Huskies were outscored 45-35 from there and lost in a blowout 87-61. Chris Doherty doubled up on 11 points and 13 rebounds in the defeat.
Towson Tigers
Over on the Towson side, they were 10-6 at the 16-game mark with losses to Fairfield, Clemson, Navy, Northern Iowa, Bryant and Charleston. The Tigers are 4-1 since then with a lone loss to Delaware.
Matched up against Elon in their Saturday matchup, the Tigers jumped out to a 40-26 halftime edge. Towson was outscored 36-26 in the second but hung on for the 66-62 win. Nicholas Timberlake put up 24 points to top the team.

I’m going to stick with Towson. The Tigers are looking pretty good over this four-game win streak, even though they got a little sloppy in the second half versus a struggling Elon team on Saturday. Towson has held teams to 62 points or fewer in three of those four games, so it’ll be tough for Northeastern to find too many scoring opportunities. Considering how the Huskies have been at 61 points or fewer in three of their last four outings I don’t think they’ll keep up for the whole game.
