The Buffalo Bulls and the Tulane Green Wave meet Saturday in college basketball action from Phillips Arena. Buffalo is 5-4 overall on the year. The Bulls beat St. John Fisher in their last game. As for Tulane, they’re currently 5-3 and coming off a lost to Fordham. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Buffalo went just 1-4 over the first five games, losing to James Madison, UConn, Drake and Howard. The Bulls would then hit a win streak over George Mason, Canisius, St. Bonaventure and St. John Fisher.

In the matchup versus St. John Fisher back on Tuesday, the Bulls surged in the first half with 51 points. Buffalo cruised from there for a 91-53 blowout win. Devin Ceaser posted 17 points, and Yazid Powell had 13 points.

Over on the Tulane side, they beat UMBC, McNeese State and Charleston Southern before a loss to Nevada. The Wave went 2-2 over the next four with wins over Rhode Island and LA-Monroe alongside losses to Western Kentucky and Fordham.

In the Fordham matchup last weekend, Tulane took a 45-37 lead into the locker room. The Wave were outpaced 58-45 in the second half and lost 95-90, however. Both Jalen Cook and Kevin Cross scored a team-high 25 points.

PICK: I’m probably going to take a stab on Tulane. The Wave haven’t played in a while (they also had to postpone a game versus Bryant recently) but should get back into their groove pretty easily. Tulane did a decent job against a good Fordham team, shooting 43.5 percent from the floor with 29-of-34 (85.3 percent) from the line. As for Buffalo, they’ve hit 82 or more points in each of their last four games so this one could very well be a shootout. I like Tulane to eke out a cover in a fun game to watch.
