Tulane vs Cincinnati Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/7/23

The Cincinnati Bearcats and the Tulane Green Wave meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Devlin Fieldhouse. Cincinnati is 16-8 overall this year. The Bearcats beat UCF in their last game. Cincinnati Bearcats 

Cincinnati kicked off the year on an 11-5 run with losses to Northern Kentucky, Arizona, Ohio State, Xavier and Temple. The Bearcats are 5-3 since then with wins over East Carolina, SMU, South Florida, Tulsa and UCF. 

Matched up against UCF on Saturday, the Bearcats were up 31-20 by halftime. Cincinnati kept the pace from there with another 42 second-half points and won 73-64. Viktor Lakhin led the team on 20 points with eight rebounds. 

Tulane Green Wave

Over on the Tulane side, they lost to Nevada, Western Kentucky, Fordham, George Mason and Cincinnati in their first 15 games. The Wave have since hit a 5-2 stretch with wins over SMU, UCF, Wichita State, SMU again and Memphis. 

In the game versus Memphis on Saturday, the Green Wave scored 43 points in the first half, 36 in the second and 11 in overtime for a tense 90-89 win. Jalen Cook led the team on 25 points and Kevin Cross kicked in 22 points of his own.

I’ll probably stay with Cincinnati here. You could make a case either way, though; it’ll be a good matchup. That said, the last time these teams met back on December 29, the Bearcats managed an 88-77 victory at Fifth Third Arena. Cincinnati jumped out to a 45-35 halftime lead in that one and ended up shooting 50.8 percent from the field. The Bearcats are a sketchy 6-4 since then so this will be a tricky game for them. Tulane has hit 74 or more points in four straight outings themselves; it wouldn’t be surprising to see a high total here. Should be a great one to watch.
