The Southeastern Louisiana Lions and the Tulane Green Wave meet Monday in college basketball action from Devlin Fieldhouse. Here’s a Tulane vs Southeastern LA prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Tulane vs Southeastern LA pick.
Southeastern Louisiana Lions Betting Preview
The Lions lost two of their first three games this year to UAB and Mississippi State. Following a win over Louisiana-Monroe, Southeastern LA lost to Wyoming and Gardner-Webb before another win over North Dakota.
On Wednesday in the North Dakota matchup, the Lions held a four-point lead at the break. Southeastern LA hit a 43-31 run the rest of the way in a 76-60 win. Sam Hines was the lead scorer on 17 points with five rebounds.
Tulane Green Wave Betting Preview
Over on the Green Wave’s side, they won their first three games over Louisiana Christian, LA-Monroe, and Alcorn State. Tulane has gone 1-4 since then, however, falling to Furman, New Orleans, Wyoming, and Belmont in that time.
The Wave were looking at a 10-point deficit by the break in the Belmont matchup. Tulane didn’t get any closer on a 44-31 deficit from there in an 89-66 loss. Asher Woods was tops with 16 points, while both Rowan Brumbaugh and Mari Jordan added 13 points each.
Why the Tulane Green Wave will win
- Southeastern Louisiana has lost 19 of its last 20 road night games against non-conference opponents.
- Tulane has won each of its last nine Monday night games at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
- Tulane has won the first half in 22 of its last 23 night games against non-conference opponents at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
Why the Southeastern Louisiana Lions will win
- Tulane has lost four of its last five games.
- Southeastern Louisiana has won seven of its last eight Monday games.
- Southeastern Louisiana has won the first half in three of its last four games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
Tulane vs Southeastern LA Prediction
I might take a stab at Tulane here. The Green Wave really need a good bounce-back effort after falling to Belmont, though. Tulane put up a tepid 39 percent shooting in that one with 15 turnovers but did have a 38-33 rebounding edge. The Wave have given up 75 or more points in three of the last five games, going just 1-4 in that time.
As for Southeastern Louisiana, they’ve hit 69 or more points in three of the last four games. The Lions are coming off a solid win over North Dakota, hitting a nice 47.2 percent from the field. That makes fewer than 68 points allowed in three of the last four games, but also a spotty 2-2 run in that time. This one seems like a coin flip to me, so I’m probably staying away.
