The Memphis Tigers and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane meet Thursday in college basketball action from Reynolds Center. Memphis is coming off their sixth win in a row over Austin Peay, improving the Tigers to 11-2 overall. As for Tulsa, they’re 9-3 and coming off a win over Southwestern Oklahoma State. Let’s get into our Memphis vs. Tulsa prediction. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Memphis Tigers

The Tigers only have two blemishes on the schedule versus Villanova and Ole Miss. Other than that it’s been wins over Jackson State, Missouri, Alabama State, Michigan, Arkansas, VCU, Texas A&M, Clemson, Virginia, Vanderbilt and Austin Peay over their first 13 games this year.

Back on Saturday versus Austin Peay, the Tigers were only ahead 37-34 by the break. Memphis posted a 44-36 run in the second half however and won it 81-70. Leading team scorer David Jones put up 20 points with nine rebounds and five assists in the winning effort.

Tulsa Golden Hurricane

Over on the Hurricane’s side, they’ve got losses to only Little Rock, Oral Roberts and Oklahoma State this year. Tulsa has beaten Central Arkansas, Incarnate Word, Jackson State, South Carolina State, Loyola, Missouri State, MS Valley State, New Mexico State and Southwestern Oklahoma State otherwise.

Matched up against Southwestern Oklahoma State last Friday, the Hurricane didn’t have too many difficulties in an easy matchup. Tulsa jumped out to a 46-25 halftime lead, then hit a 49-29 run from there in a 95-54 win. Leading the way was PJ Haggerty with 21 points and four assists.

ANDREW’S FREE MEMPHIS VS TULSA PREDICTION

I’m sticking with Memphis. The Tigers are rolling along nicely right now and coming off a pretty solid win over Austin Peay (despite hitting just 22.2 percent from 3-point range). Memphis had a 48-39 rebounding edge in that one and hit 27 of their 31 attempts from the line (87.1 percent). That makes 77 or more points in seven straight games—six of those being wins.

As for Tulsa, they’re playing well over this four-game win streak and have hit 73 or more points in three of those outings. The Hurricane haven’t faced anyone of Memphis’ caliber yet this season however, and I don’t think Tulsa will keep a cover pace.
