The UAB Blazers will play the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in an AAC game on Sunday afternoon at the Donald W. Reynolds Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. UAB has won three of their last four games, while Tulsa is on a two game losing streak. Let’s take a look at the betting matchup and the UAB vs Tulsa prediction.

UAB Preview

The UAB Blazers are 15-8 (7-3) this year after they defeated FAU in overtime by a score of 76-73 in their last game. UAB trailed 39-32 at halftime, but they were able to force overtime and they scored nine points in the extra frame for the win. The Blazers shot 44.4% from the field and recorded 47 rebounds in the game. UAB lost to SMU by a score of 72-69 in the game prior to FAU, but they did beat North Texas and Memphis before that. The Blazers are scoring 77.3 points per game with 38.6 rebounds per game and 13 assists per game, while allowing 75.6 points against per game this year. Eric Gaines is averaging 12.3 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game, and 5.2 assists per game. UAB is shooting 44.7% from the field, 75% on free throws, and 31.2% on three pointers this season.

Tulsa Preview

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane are 12-10 (3-7) this season after they lost to North Texas by a score of 68-55 in their last game. Tulsa trailed 35-24 at the half and couldn’t overcome the deficit in the second half for the loss. The Golden Hurricane shot 37.2% from the field and were -7 in rebounding margin in the game. Tulsa lost to FAU by a score of 102-70 in the game prior to North Texas, but did beat Wichita State and Rice before that. The Golden Hurricane are scoring 76.7 points per game with 35.9 rebounds per game and 12.6 assists per game, while allowing 73.3 points against per game this season. PJ Haggerty is averaging 19.8 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, and 3.5 assists per game. Tulsa is shooting 43.8% from the field, 74% on free throws, and 33.5% on three pointers this year.

UAB vs Tulsa Betting Prediction

UAB comes into this matchup after a huge win against FAU in their last game and they are right in the middle of the race for the AAC. The Blazers have won three of their last four games, while Tulsa has lost two straight. Tulsa is only 3-7 in conference play and they have lost by margins of 13 and 32 points in their last two games. I really like how UAB is playing right now, but their defense is a concern, as they are allowing 75.6 points against per game this season. Tulsa is only shooting 43.8% from the field, so I don’t think they will be able to push the UAB defense like other teams have. Take UAB on the road.
