UAB vs Louisiana Tech Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/26/23

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and the UAB Blazers meet Thursday in college basketball action from Bartow Arena. Louisiana Tech is 11-9 so far this season. The Bulldogs lost to Middle Tennessee on Saturday. As for UAB, they’re currently 13-7 after a loss to North Texas over the weekend. Louisiana Tech Bulldogs

The Bulldogs lost to Texas Tech, Louisiana, Wyoming, Stephen F. Austin, UTEP and Charlotte in their first 16 games. Since then it’s been a 1-3 stretch with losses to North Texas, UAB and Middle Tennessee. 

In the Middle Tennessee matchup on Saturday, the Bulldogs were down 43-24 at halftime. Louisiana Tech posted a 27-25 edge in the second during a 68-51 loss. Come Williams led the way on 22 points in 34 minutes. 

UAB Blazers 

Over on the UAB side, they lost to Toledo, West Virginia, Florida Atlantic and FIU during their 12-4 stretch to start the year. The Blazers are 1-3 in their last four as well, with losses to Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee and North Texas. 

Matched up against North Texas on Saturday, UAB took a 40-29 deficit into the break. The Blazers kept the pace from there and ended up with a 63-52 loss. Trey Jemison notched a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds in the defeat. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll probably stick with UAB. This should be an interesting matchup, however; both teams are struggling right now; UAB is on a 1-5 run and the Bulldogs are 1-3 in their last four. The last time these teams met up back on January 14 at Thomas Assembly Center, the Blazers took an 81-74 win thanks to a 47-39 second half. This one should be a fairly high-scoring matchup as well; UAB had hit 70 or more points in every game up until the North Texas matchup on Saturday (52 points). I’m sticking with the Blazers to power out a cover, but I could probably go either way.
