The Tulane Green Wave and the UAB Blazers meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Bartow Arena. Tulane is currently 11-5 this year. The Wave beat Tulsa in overtime during their last matchup. As for UAB, they’re coming off a loss to Florida Atlantic which dropped the Blazers to 10-6 on the season. Let’s get into our Tulane vs. UAB prediction. Tulane Green Wave

The Green Wave managed a nice 10-3 run over their first 13 outings, taking out Nicholls, Northwestern State, Sacramento State, California, Prairie View A&M, Fordham, Furman, Southern, Dillard and Rice in that time. After losses to North Texas and FAU, Tulane beat Tulsa in their last game.

On Sunday versus the Hurricane, the Green Wave were down 44-37 at the break. Tulane fought back to force overtime, then posted a 16-9 run in the extra period for a 94-87 victory. Leading the team in scoring was Kevin Cross with his 28 points and nine rebounds in 42 minutes.

UAB Blazers

Over on the UAB side, they kicked off the year on a sketchy 4-5 run. The losses in that time were versus Bradley, Clemson, McNeese, Southern Miss and Arkansas State. The Blazers would recover in December/January with a six-game winning streak that was halted by a loss to FAU.

Matched up against Florida Atlantic on Sunday, the Blazers were drilled 43-24 in the first half. UAB got better from there on a 49-43 run but still lost 86-73 in the end. Eric Gaines and Efrem Johnson led the team on 13 points. Gaines added four rebounds and two assists as well.

ANDREW’S FREE TULANE VS UAB PREDICTION

I’ll stay with UAB. The Blazers didn’t play all that well in a tricky road matchup versus FAU in their last game, shooting just 39.4 percent from the field and 19.2 percent (5-of-26) from 3-point range in the 13-point loss. This game should be slightly more manageable though, and UAB can be encouraged by the fact that they’ve hit 73 or more points in seven straight games.

As for Tulane, they’re coming off a nice recovery in the win over Tulsa. The Green Wave have scored 84 or more points in four of the last five games themselves, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a high total on Wednesday. Ultimately I like UAB to pull off the cover/win but you could probably argue for Tulane as well.
