The Hawaii Warriors and the UC-San Diego Tritons meet in college basketball action from the RIMAC Arena on Thursday night.

The Hawaii Warriors will look to build on a 72-55 win over CSU-Fullerton last time out. Noel Coleman leads the Warriors in scoring with 15.4 PPG while Bernardo da Silva has 11.1 PPG with 6.7 RPG and Jerome Desrosiers has 11.5 PPG with a team-high 7.4 RPG. Junior Madut has 10.4 PPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for the Warriors this season. JoVon McClanahan also has a team-high 3.5 APG as well for the Warriors this season. As a team, Hawaii is averaging 71.4 PPG on 45.3% shooting from the field, 36.6% from three and 73.3% from the foul line while allowing 65.4 PPG on 41.7% shooting from the field and 32.1% from three this season.

The UC-San Diego Tritons will look to rebound from a 56-50 loss to UC-Irvine last time out. Toni Rocak leads the Tritons in scoring and rebounding with 15.1 PPG and 6.8 RPG while Francis Nwaokone has 11.1 PPG with 5.8 RPG and Bryce Pope has 12.3 PPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for UCSD so far this season. Jace Roquemore leads the Tritons in assists with 3.3 APG this season. As a team, UC-San Diego is averaging 69.5 PPG on 44% shooting from the field, 35.7% from three and 73.7% from the foul line while allowing 68.8 PPG on 45.3% shooting from the field and 29.9% from three this season.

Hawaii is 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall while the under is 7-1 in their last 8 games following a win. UC-San Diego is 9-2-2 ATS in their last 13 home games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the over is 10-3 in their last 13 home games.

I get the case to be made either way here, but while laying points on the road isn’t ideal, I think going with Hawaii is the play here. The Tritons have been inconsistent offensively and this team lives and dies by the three and Hawaii defends the three fairly well. The Warriors beat the Tritons by 23 in the first meeting on the island and in a different venue, I don’t expect a ton of difference. The win may not be by 23, but expect Hawaii to win and cover here.
