AR-Pine Bluff hasn’t been able to get close in any game so far this year; it’s been a string of double-digit losses. The Golden Lions lost to Creighton, Colorado State, Wyoming and Portland over their first four games.
AR-Pine Bluff dropped another one versus Seattle on Monday, losing big again. The Lions were outscored 46-25 in the second half in a 77-56 loss. Brandon Brown led the team on 17 points and 17 rebounds, and Shawn Williams had 16 points as well.
Over on the UC Santa Barbara side, they didn’t have any issues in their opener versus San Francisco State, cruising to a 119-65 blowout victory. The Gauchos weren’t so luck in game two versus Washington State, falling 73-65.
The Gauchos got back over .500 on the year with a victory over Chicago State on Saturday. UCSB held a 38-22 edge at the break and never looked back in an 81-50 blowout. Amadou Sow led the team on 13 points with four rebounds.
The Gauchos are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 after an ATS win and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. UCSB is 5-12 ATS in their last 17 Wednesday games.
Meanwhile, the Lions are 2-8-1 ATS in the last 11 Wednesday games and 5-0 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. The over is 5-2 in AR-Pine Bluff’s last seven overall.
PICK: I’m going to stick with the Gauchos here. UC Santa Barbara bounced back with a nice win over Chicago State in their last game, shooting 54.2 percent from the field to Chicago State’s 28.6 percent. UCSB won the rebound battle 41-31 and had 20 team assists in a great overall effort. Considering how AR-Pine Bluff has struggled to score (as well as close out in the second half), I like the Gauchos to cover coming off a convincing victory.
