The Cal State Fullerton Titans and the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos meet Monday in college basketball action from UCSB Events Center. Cal State Fullerton is fresh off a Saturday matchup versus Cal Poly. The Titans went on to take a blowout victory. As for UC Santa Barbara, they played UC Riverside in their Saturday game. In that one the Gauchos lost by 11 points. CSU Fullerton Titans
Cal State Fullerton’s season began on a .500 stretch at 10-10 through 20 outings. The Titans posted a 5-2 run over the next seven games with wins over UC Irvine, Cal Poly, UC Riverside, Hawaii and UC San Diego alongside losses to CSU Northridge and LBSU.
In the Cal Poly game on Saturday, the Titans went into the locker room with a 36-21 edge. The Titans posted another 47 points in the second during an 83-62 win. Latrell Wrightsell was the leading team scorer on 23 points and four rebounds.
UC Santa Barbara Gauchos
Over on the UC Santa Barbara side, they went a nice 15-3 through their first 18 outings. The Gauchos would then hit a 5-2 stretch as well, taking out CSU Bakersfield, Hawaii, Cal Poly, Long Beach State and UC Davis in that time.
Matched up against UC Riverside on Saturday, the Gauchos were down 27-24 going into the second half. UC Santa Barbara ultimately couldn’t get any closer and ended up falling 74-63. Andre Kelly topped the team on 22 points and eight rebounds.

I’m probably staying with CSU Fullerton here. Also probably staying away. This should be an interesting and competitive matchup, even with UC Santa Barbara’s consecutive losses. These teams last met up back on December 29 in a 66-58 Gauchos victory at Titan Gym. CSU Fullerton is going to have to play much better in this rematch, but considering the Titans have won six of their last seven games I think they’re ready for some revenge in the form of a cover. Should be a fun one to watch.
