Gonzaga Looks to Build on Tuesday’s Win

Gonzaga suffered their first loss of the season on Monday, but they bounced back on Tuesday in a big way. Gonzaga scored 76 points against Syracuse, but even more impressive was the defense gave up only 57 points. Gonzaga shot 46.9 percent from the field and 35 percent from behind the three point line. Gonzaga on the season is averaging 87 points while their defense is giving up 64.5 points per game. They are averaging 67.9 shots per game which is 9th best in college basketball. Graham Ike is averaging 16.7 points while shooting 75 percent from the field.

UCLA Coming Off Win Against Chaminade 

UCLA comes into this game with a 4-1 record overall and the only loss came two games ago against Marquette. UCLA was very competitive but they ended up losing by two points. In the last game against Chaminade, UCLA gave up only 48 points and that was the difference. UCLA on the season is averaging 73.2 points while their defense is giving up 54.2 points per game. The defense is sixth best in college basketball and the defense is going to need to step up here. Adem Bona is averaging 16.8 points while shooting 56.1 percent from the field.

I love the way the UCLA defense has played this season and I think they have been overlooked heading into this season. UCLA is giving up only 54.2 points per game and they are going to lockdown with their defense here.
