The Binghamton Bearcats and the UConn Huskies meet Saturday in college basketball action from XL Center. Binghamton comes into this one at 1-2 so far. The Bearcats lost to Columbia in their last outing. As for UConn, they’re 3-0 this year. The Huskies are fresh off a win over LIU. Binghamton started off their season with a matchup versus Cornell. The Bearcats fell behind 37-32 at halftime and ended up losing 76-69. In game two against Sacred Heart, Binghamton got into the win column with a 72-60 result.

Back on Wednesday versus Columbia, Binghamton played Columbia. The Bearcats stayed with the Lions the whole way but eventually lost 85-77 after being outscored 16-8 in overtime. Tyler Bertram led the team with 29 points in 41 minutes of action.

Over on the UConn side, their first game of the year came versus Central Connecticut State. The Huskies won that one 99-48. Another blowout came in game two against Coppin State. UConn took that one 89-54 after scoring 46 first-half points.

UConn posted another huge win in their third outing versus Long Island University. The Huskies had a 55-18 second-half advantage as they cruised to a 93-40 blowout. Tyler Polley led the team with 17 points and three rebounds in 18 minutes on the floor.

The Huskies are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games and 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 after an ATS win. UConn is 21-8-1 ATS in their last 30 overall

Meanwhile, the Bearcats are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five as a road underdog. Binghamton is 4-11 ATS in their last 15 Saturday games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with UConn. The Huskies are coming off their third blowout win of the year, shooting 45.2 percent from the floor with 48 rebounds, 10 blocks, 14 assists and 14 steals versus LIU. UConn really hasn’t been tested yet.

As for Binghamton, they’ve scored pretty well over their last couple of games and should be able to hang around here for a while. I don’t think the Bearcats can keep up, though.
