UConn vs UNC Wilmington 11/18/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The UNC Wilmington Seahawks and the UConn Huskies meet Friday in college basketball action from Gampel Pavilion. UNC Wilmington is 1-2 on the year. The Seahawks lost to Oklahoma in their last game on Tuesday. As for UConn, they’re rolling along at 3-0 after a Tuesday win versus Buffalo. UNC Wilmington had a very tough matchup in their opener versus North Carolina. The Seahawks ended up losing that one 69-56. In game two, UNC Wilmington got their first win of the year, taking it 104-55 versus Allen. 

On Tuesday versus Oklahoma, UNC Wilmington had another tough game on their hands. The Seahawks scored just 21 points in the first half however and limped to a 74-53 loss. The team’s only double-digit scorer was Tan White with 19 points and three boards. 

Over on the UConn side, they didn’t have too many difficulties in their opener versus Stonehill. The Huskies cruised to an 85-54 win there. The Boston U matchup in game two wasn’t too tough for UConn either, as they managed an 86-57 victory. 

Matched up against Buffalo on Tuesday, UConn continued to shine. The Huskies were up 44-28 going into the second half and scored 40 more points for an 84-64 win. Tristen Newton notched a triple-double in the victory with 22 points, 11 assists and 10 boards. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with UConn. The Huskies are rolling right along so far this year, but they haven’t really had a tough game yet. (This one shouldn’t be difficult either.) In the Buffalo matchup Tuesday, UConn shot 44.4 percent from the field with 42 rebounds and 17 assists. There are a few things to clean up, like the 26.1 percent shooting (6-of-23) from 3-point range and the 15 turnovers. That said, UConn should run away with a victory here and I think they’ll cover.
