The NJIT Highlanders and the UMBC Retrievers meet in college basketball action from the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena on Wednesday night.
The NJIT Highlanders will try to snap a four-game losing streak after a 68-57 loss to Binghamton last time out. Miles Coleman leads the Highlanders in scoring and rebounding with 15.8 PPG with 6.4 RPG while Dylan O’Hearn has 14.5 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for NJIT up to this point in the year. Antwuan Butler also has a team-high 2.6 APG as well to lead the Highlanders in the assist department this season. I get why UMBC is favored at home here, but the problem I’m having is that both teams are struggling as of late and for whatever reason NJIT’s struggles have mostly come at home. On the road, the Highlanders have not only been covering, but they’ve been winning the occasional game as well away from home and I think the Highlanders could keep themselves into this one until late.
