The South Dakota Coyotes and the Kansas City Roos meet in Summit League college basketball action from the Swinney Recreation Center on Monday night.
The South Dakota Coyotes will look to rebound from an 87-86 loss to Coastal Carolina in their last game. A.J. Plitzuweit leads the Coyotes in scoring and assists with 12.1 PPG and 2.3 APG while Kruz Perrott-Hunt has 11.3 PPG and Paul Bruns has 11 PPG with 3.6 RPG. Tasos Kamateros has 10.3 PPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for South Dakota up to this point in the year while Damani Hayes has a team-high 7.4 RPG to lead South Dakota in rebounding this season. As a team, South Dakota is averaging 68.8 PPG on 42% shooting from the field, 38.3% from three and 76.6% from the foul line this season.
The Kansas City Roos will try to bounce back from a 70-64 loss to Green Bay in their last game. Rayquawndis Mitchell has 16.7 PPG to lead the Roos in scoring while Shemarri Allen has 16 PPG with a team-high 2.5 APG and 5.5 RPG to lead the Roos in assists. Allen David Mukeba Jr. also has a team-high 8.3 RPG to lead UMKC on the glass as well this season. As a team, UMKC is averaging 64.2 PPG on 39% shooting from the field, 27% from three and 70.4% from the foul line this season.
South Dakota is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games against a team with a losing record and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 road games against a team with a losing home record. Kansas City is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games while the over is 3-1-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record.
I get the case to be made for either side here, but I’m looking at the under in this one. South Dakota’s had little success on the road, but they’ve played tougher opposition for the most part. That being said, scoring has still been an issue and I think it might be here as well but KC isn’t lighting the world on fire offensively either if we’re going apples to apples here. I think this is going to be a low-scoring battle so give me the under in a first to 65 wins kind of game.
