I’m on UNC-Wilmington here. Charleston, from a legacy/name brand perspective, should get the respect as a team to beat in the CAA as two-time defending conference tournament champions. However, a lot of those key pieces left with Pat Kelsey when he took the Louisville job. Not to say the Cougars still aren’t solid, but the Cougars had some issues this season and really had no answers for UNCW offensively in the head-to-head matchups this season. I also didn’t love that Charleston needed OT to beat Monmouth and on a quick turnaround in these conference tournament situations with games in consecutive days it just makes it hard to feel great about Charleston here. Give me UNC-Wilmington in this one.
