The Nevada Wolf Pack and the Utah State Aggies meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Smith Spectrum. Nevada is 17-5 overall this year. The Wolf Pack beat San Jose State in their last outing. As for Utah State, they’re 19-3 and coming off a loss to San Diego State on Saturday. Let’s get into our Nevada vs. Utah State prediction. Nevada Wolf Pack

The Wolf Pack got off to a great 15-1 start this year. The only loss in that time was versus Drake on December 9. In the last six games Nevada is just 2-4, however. The losses came versus Boise State, San Diego State, Wyoming and New Mexico (with wins over Colorado State and San Jose State).

In the San Jose State matchup on Friday, the Wolf Pack stormed out to a 49-24 halftime edge. Nevada kept it up in the second with 41 more points in a 90-60 victory. Nick Davidson was the team’s top scorer with his 22 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Jarod Lucas added 20 points as well.

Utah State Aggies

Over on the Utah State side, they posted a nice 16-2 run over their first 18 outings. The Aggies’ only two blemishes in that time came versus Bradley and New Mexico. Utah State would then beat Fresno State, Boise State and San Jose State before another loss to San Diego State.

Back on Saturday versus San Diego State, the Aggies faced a 42-36 deficit going into the second half. Utah State was outscored 39-31 from there and ended up falling 81-67. Great Osobor led the team in the defeat with 17 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

ANDREW’S FREE NEVADA VS UTAH STATE PREDICTION

I’ll stick with Utah State. The Aggies need a good bounce-back effort here, though; they’re coming off a pretty tepid game versus San Diego State. Utah State shot just 41 percent from the field in that one and got out-rebounded 39-30. The defeat also snapped a string of nine straight games with 77 or more points scored.

As for Nevada, they’ve been pretty erratic on the scoreboard lately with fewer than 60 points in three of their last six outings. The Wolf Pack probably won’t be so ineffective on offense here, but I still don’t think they’ll cover.
