The Yale Bulldogs and the Vermont Catamounts meet Friday in college basketball action from Patrick Gym. Yale is 3-1 so far this year and coming off a win over Siena. As for Vermont, they’re 2-1 and beat Worcester Tech in their last outing. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Yale didn’t have a lot of issues in their first couple of games this year. The Bulldogs took out Vassar in the opener 88-42 and UMass in game two 91-71. Yale took their first loss in game three against Seton Hall, falling big 80-44.

The Bulldogs were able to get back in the win column back on Tuesday against Siena. Yale scored 49 points in the second half on the way to an 82-54 blowout win. Lead scorer Azar Swain finished with 23 points and seven rebounds in 28 minutes.

Over on the Vermont side, they opened up the year with a big win over Northern Iowa, posting 38 second-half points in a 71-57 victory. Game two was tougher for the Catamounts. They initially led 36-32 but were able to score just 21 points after halftime in a 68-57 loss.

In the Worcester Tech game, Vermont rolled to a 44-24 halftime lead and cruised from there for an 81-48 victory. Ryan Davis led the team with 28 points, nine rebounds and one steal. Kameron Gibson chipped in with 11 points and one assist as well.

Vermont is 1-4-1 ATS in their last six Friday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall. The over is 5-2 in the Catamounts’ last seven Friday games.

Meanwhile, Yale is 0-4 ATS in their last four after an ATS win and 17-7 ATS in their last 24 road games. The Bulldogs are 15-6-1 ATS in their last 22 Friday games.

PICK: I’m probably going to stick with Yale. The Bulldogs have been scoring very well in their three wins so far. Yale has hit 82 points or more in those three—but did have an ugly 24.2 shooting percentage on the way to just 44 points against Seton Hall.

As for Vermont, they’re coming off 49.2 percent shooting with 45 rebounds in their last game. The Catamounts will have a stouter test here, and they’ll have to get on the boards early. All things considered I like Yale a little better cover-wise. Should be a fun matchup, though.
