The Florida State Seminoles and the Virginia Tech Hokies meet Wednesday in the college basketball MAAC Tournament Quarterfinals at the Capital One Arena. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Florida State vs. Virginia Tech prediction.

Florida State Team Preview

The Florida State Seminoles come into the conference tournament as the 9-seed, finishing the year with a 10-10 record in conference play as part of a 16-15 overall record. Jamir Watkins leads the Seminoles across the board with 15.1 PPG, 5.9 RPG and 2.7 APG while Darin Green Jr. also has 11.8 PPG with 3 RPG. Primo Spears has 10.3 PPG in 22 games to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for FSU up to this point in the year. Cam Corhen has 9.7 PPG with 4 RPG and Baba Miller has 7.7 PPG and 5 RPG as well on the year. As a team, Florida State is averaging 76.5 PPG on 45.2% shooting from the field, 32.1% from three and 70.2% from the foul line this season.

Virginia Tech Team Preview

The Virginia Tech Hokies booked their spot in this matchup as the 8-seed, finishing the year with a 10-10 mark in conference play as part of a 18-13 overall record this season. Sean Pedulla leads the Hokies in scoring and assists with 16.1 PPG and 4.4 APG along with 4.3 RPG while Lynn Kidd has 13.1 PPG with a team-high 6.6 RPG to lead the Hokies on the glass this season. Hunter Cattoor has 13.7 PPG to cap off the scoring in double figures for Virginia Tech up to this point in the year. As a team, Virginia Tech is averaging 75 PPG on 46.6% shooting from the field, 35.4% from three and 79.2% from the foul line this season.

Florida State vs. Virginia Tech Prediction

I’m on Virginia Tech here. The Hokies haven’t been the same team when you take them out of Blacksburg this season, but the Hokies finished the year strong with three straight wins. Florida State was inconsistent down the stretch and it made it really hard to back this team with any sort of confidence. I’ll side with Virginia Tech.
