The Miami Hurricanes will be out to rebound from an 80-71 loss to Louisville in their last matchup. Norchad Omier leads the Hurricanes in scoring and rebounding with 17.5 PPG and 9.6 RPG while Wooga Poplar has 16.3 PPG with 5.1 RPG. Matthew Cleveland has 16.1 PPG with 5.7 RPG and Nijel Pack has 13.2 PPG with a team-high 4.1 APG to lead the Hurricanes in the assist department up to this point in the year. As a team, Miami is averaging 84.3 PPG on 49.4% shooting from the field, 41% from three and 78.9% from the foul line this season.

Virginia Tech Team Preview

The Virginia Tech Hokies will be looking to build on their 87-72 win over Clemson in their last matchup. Lynn Kidd leads the Hokies in scoring and rebounding with 14.7 PPG and 7.3 RPG while Sean Pedulla has 14.7 PPG with 3.7 RPG and a team-high 4.1 APG to lead the Hokies in the assist department so far this season. Hunter Cattoor has 13.5 PPG to cap off the scoring in double figures for Virginia Tech up to this point in the year. As a team, Virginia Tech is averaging 74.3 PPG on 45.9% shooting from the field, 36% from three and 78.3% from the foul line this season.

Miami vs. Virginia Tech Prediction

I’m rolling with the over here. I just think this is going to be another track meet and Miami couldn’t possibly shoot worse than they did in the second half of that game against Louisville. Virginia Tech has the horses to go with a team like Miami for a full 40 minutes if need be, and I think this ends up being and up and down battle that could come down to who gets the last shot. All in all, give me the over in an offensive clinic.
