The UNC-Greensboro Spartans and the VMI Keydets meet in college basketball action from Cameron Hall on Wednesday night.

The UNC-Greensboro Spartans will look to build on their 77-74 win over Mercer last time out. Isaiah Miller leads UNCG as the lone double-digit scorer with 18.4 PPG in addition to 3.5 APG and 6.6 RPG this season while Kameron Langley has 9.3 PPG with 3.7 APG to leads the Spartans in assists. Angelo Allegri and Kaleb Hunter each have 8.5+ PPG and 4.2 RPG for the Spartans so far this year as well. As a team, UNC-Greensboro is averaging 72.9 PPG on 42.2% shooting from the field, 29.2% from 3-point range and 68.5% from the foul line while allowing 66.9 PPG on 41% shooting from the field and 30.5% from 3-point range this season.

The VMI Keydets will be out to build on an 85-56 win over Sanford in their last matchup. Greg Parham leads the Keydets in scoring and assists with 18.3 PPG and 3.8 APG while Jake Stephens has 14.6 PPG with 3.3 APG and a team-high 7.4 RPG to lead the Keydets on the glass. Kamdyn Curfman has 12.6 PPG for VMI and Sean Conway has 10.5 PPG with 5.8 RPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for VMI up to this point in the year. Trey Bonham also has 9.2 PPG and 7 RPG for the Keydets this season. As a team, VMI is averaging 80.4 PPG on 46.7% shooting from the field, 39.1% from 3-point range and 78.5% from the foul line while allowing 75.3 PPG on 42.5% shooting from the field and 34.6% from 3-point range this season.

UNC-Greensboro is 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 road games while the over is 8-2-1 in their last 11 games as a road favorite. VMI is 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 games overall and 11-1 ATS in their last 12 home games while the over is 10-4 in their last 14 games as a home underdog. The home team is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams.

I get why UNCG is favored on the road as they’re sitting at the top of the SoCon at the moment. However, all VMI has done at home this season is cover the number and win games and while I’m not sure they win outright here, I do think they rise up and give the Spartans a serious test here. I think we could see one the best performances from VMI up to this point, so I’ll take my points with the Keydets in this one.
