Wofford has had quite the up-and-down year with plenty of variation in their game outcomes. The Terriers are a typical 2-2 in their last four games. They’ve got wins over Western Carolina and the Citadel between losses to Samford and Furman.
In the Furman game back on Saturday, the Terriers were outpaced 23-35 in the first half. Wofford got better from there with 46 points but still lost 70-69. BJ Mack was the top team scorer with 17 points and seven boards.
Over on the VMI side, they’ve been all over the place this year as well. The Keydets had a recent win streak over East Tennessee State, UNCG, Western Carolina and Mercer, then lost to the Citadel and Samford before a win over Chattanooga.
Matched up against the Mocs on Saturday, the Keydets hit a 37-29 first-half run. VMI was outscored 43-46 fro there but still won 80-75. Tops in scoring was Honor Huff with 22 points, three boards and two assists.
The Keydets are 19-7 ATS in the last 26 at home and 8-2-1 ATS in the last 11 Wednesday games. VMI is 15-5 ATS in their last 20 overall.
Meanwhile, the Terriers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven after an ATS win and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 overall. VMI is 4-12 ATS in their last 16 Wednesday games.
PICK: I’m going to stay with VMI. The Keydets have been doing well on the scoreboard over this 5-2 run. They’ve hit 76 or more points in each of those games. It’s been a while since we’ve seen these teams go up against each other. The last meeting was back on December 29 in an 80-73 road victory for VMI. Wofford has been pretty spotty scoring themselves lately, so I like VMI better on a potential cover/win.
