The Oklahoma Sooners and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons meet Tuesday in college basketball action from LJVM Coliseum. Here’s a Wake Forest vs Oklahoma prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Wake Forest vs Oklahoma pick.
Oklahoma Sooners Betting Preview
Oklahoma began the season on a pretty shaky run but they’ve been better over the last few games record-wise. The Sooners opened with a 2-2 stretch featuring wins over Saint Francis and Arkansas-Pine Bluff mixed with losses versus Gonzaga and Nebraska. Since then however, Oklahoma is 3-0 with wins over Oral Roberts, Alcorn State and Marquette. That gives the Sooners a 5-2 record through seven games so far this season.
In their latest matchup with Marquette on Friday, the Sooners were trailing 37-33 at the break. Oklahoma hit a 42-37 run the rest of the way however, resulting in a 75-74 comeback win. Leading team scorer Nijel Pack put up 24 points with three assists and two rebounds, while Tae Davis doubled up on 19 points and 11 rebounds alongside five assists. Derrion Reid added 15 points in 29 minutes of work in the win as well.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons Betting Preview
Over on the Wake Forest side, they also started out with a shaky record but have evened things out recently. The Deacons were 3-2 through their first five, taking losses to Michigan and Texas Tech among wins over American, Morehead State and UMass Lowell. The last three games have all been wins though, as Wake Forest has toppled Memphis, Campbell and Northeastern in that trio. In total that gives Wake Forest a 6-2 record through eight outings.
Matched up against Northeastern in their Friday game, the Demon Deacons held a slim one-point advantage by halftime. Wake Forest surged on a 41-29 run the rest of the way in an 86-73 win. Tre’Von Spillers led the way on 17 points with 10 rebounds while Juke Harris added 17 points with three boards. Sebastian Akins had 13 points in 22 minutes, and Myles Colvin put up 11 points with three boards.

- Wake Forest has lost the first half in each of its last six games against the Southeastern Conference.
Wake Forest vs Oklahoma Prediction
I’ll lean toward the Deacons here. Wake Forest started pretty slowly versus a middling Northeastern team in their last outing, surrendering 51 percent shooting on defense with 16 turnovers on the offensive side. The Deacons shot 55.2 percent from the floor themselves, however, adding a 27-19 rebounding edge and a 40-28 advantage on points in the paint. Considering that Wake Forest’s two losses this year have each been by one point to ranked teams (Michigan and Texas Tech), they’re doing quite well overall.
As for Oklahoma, they powered out a nice win over a decent Marquette team in their last game. The Sooners shot 47.5 percent from the field in that one, with 31 rebounds and just six turnovers. Oklahoma has 72 or more points scored in five straight games (a 4-1 run) so they could give the Deacons some trouble.
