In the Washington game on Wednesday, the Ducks scored 29 points in the first half, 35 in the second and seven in overtime during a tough 72-71 defeat. Leading team scorer N’Faly Dante put up 19 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double. 

Washington State Cougars 

Over on the Washington State side, their season began on a shaky 9-11 run through 20 outings. The Cougars have hit a 3-4 stretch in their last seven, falling to Colorado, Arizona, USC and UCLA with wins over Arizona State, Washington and Oregon State. 

Matched up against Oregon State on Thursday, the Cougars took a 44-30 edge into the break. Washington State finished off on a 36-32 run and took the win 80-62. Mouhamed Gueye was the top scorer on 21 points and four assists.

I might take a stab on Washington State here. You could probably make a case either way, though; it should be a fun matchup. The Cougars played well against Oregon State in their last outing, and they’ve now won six of their last seven home games. These teams last met up way back on December 1 in a 74-60 Oregon win at Matthew Knight Arena. The Ducks have hit 68 or more points in six of their last seven outings and should put up a pretty good fight in this one. If Washington State keeps up their solid play at home I think they can power out a cover/win, though.
