Oregon started off on a rough 6-6 run this year, but they were able to work their way to 16-7 by early February. The Ducks are just 2-4 since then, however. Oregon has lost to California, Arizona State, Arizona and USC in that time.
In the USC matchup back on Saturday, the Ducks nursed a slim one-point lead by halftime. Oregon was outscored 37-39 in the second during a tough 70-69 loss. Quincy Guerrier was the lead team scorer on 15 points and 10 boards.
Over on the Washington side, they’ve had a few rough spots this year as well but had carved out a 13-9 mark by February 10. It’s been a 1-5 run over the last six though, with losses to Arizona, USC, UCLA, Washington State and UCLA again.
In the Monday rematch versus UCLA, the Huskies were up by four points at the break. Washington hit a 37-52 deficit from there for a 77-66 defeat. Terrell Brown was the top team scorer on his 20 points, five boards and two assists.
The Huskies are 6-2 ATS in their last eight at home and 6-0 ATS in their last six Thursday games. The over is 9-1 in Washington’s last 10 overall.
Meanwhile, the Ducks are 2-6 ATS in their last eight overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. The over is 15-7-1 in Oregon’s last 23 overall.
PICK: I’m probably going to stay with Oregon. Neither one of these teams has been doing all that great lately, though. The Ducks have at least scored fairly well lately. They’ve hit 68 or more points in three straight games despite going just 1-2 in that time. The Huskies have hit 70 or more in two of their last three though, so we could see a fairly high total here.
The last time these teams met up back on January 23, Oregon pulled off an 84-56 blowout win at home. This one probably won’t be so easy, but I still like the Ducks on a cover.
