The Utah Valley Wolverines and the Washington Huskies meet in college basketball action from Alaska Airlines Arena on Tuesday night.
The Utah Valley Wolverines will look to build on a 107-65 win over subdivision Bethesda last time out. Fardaws Almaq leads the Wolverines in scoring and rebounding, averaging a double-double per game with 19.8 PPG and 13.5 RPG while Justin Harmon has 12.1 PPG with 4.3 RPG and Connor Harding and Le’Tre Darthard each have 10+ PPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Utah Valley so far this season. Blaze NIeld also has 7.5 PPG with a team-high 4.5 APG to lead the Wolverines in the assist department as well this season. As a team, Utah Valley is averaging 76.3 PPG on 45.8% shooting from the field, 33.8% from three and 72.6% from the foul line while allowing 65.1 PPG on 38.6% shooting from the field and 28.2% from three this season.
The Washington Huskies will look to add on a 64-56 win over Seattle last time out. Daejon Davis and Jamal Bey each have 9.1 PPG while Nate Roberts has a team-high 7.3 RPG to lead Washington on the glass so far this season. As a team, Washington is averaging 64.5 PPG on 39.4% shooting from the field, 30.2% from three and 67.3% from the foul line while allowing 64.4 PPG on 41.8% shooting from the field and 31.5% from three this season.
Utah Valley is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games after scoring 90 or more in their previous game. Washington is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a win and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games following an ATS win.
I get why Washington’s favored here, but this is a spot where the line is telling us where to go. The Huskies have not been a good team for much of the season and are right up there with Pitt and Georgia in my opinion as the worst representative from their Power 6 conference this season as Washington’s right there with Oregon State in my opinion. Utah Valley is underrated and has a massive edge in rebounding with Fardaws Almaq and I think the Wolverines potentially get the win here if not keep this one within a point or two. Give me Utah Valley and the points here.
