South Florida Bulls
South Florida managed a sketchy 9-13 run through their first 22 games this year. In the eight outings since, the Bulls are 5-3 with wins over East Carolina, Tulsa, Central Florida, SMU and Tulsa alongside losses to Cincinnati, Tulane and Memphis.
In Wednesday’s matchup versus Tulsa, South Florida jumped out to a 35-20 edge by halftime. The Bulls cruised from there on another 37 points and won easily 72-56. Keyshawn Bryant was the leading scorer on 30 points with six rebounds.

Over on the Wichita State side, they managed a .500 run at 11-11 through their first 22 games. The Shockers have since hit a 4-3 stretch with wins over Tulsa, SMU, Temple and Tulane mixed with losses to UCF, Memphis and Houston otherwise.
In the Houston game on Thursday, the Shockers trailed 33-31 going into the second half. Wichita State was outscored 50-35 from there and lost 83-66. Craig Porter led the team on 17 points and seven boards. Jaron Pierre added 16 points as well.
ANDREW’S FREE PICK
I’ll probably stick with Wichita State in this one. The Shockers did a pretty good job in the first half against a great Houston team in their last outing but couldn’t keep pace in the end. There are still plenty of positives for Wichita State during this 3-2 stretch; they’ve hit 76 or more points in four of those outings. These teams last met up back on January 8 at the USF Sun Dome. The Shockers fell behind 34-28 at halftime in that one but eventually pulled off the 70-66 comeback win. This one will probably be competitive initially as well, but I like Wichita State to pull off the home cover.
