The Navy Midshipmen and William & Mary Tribe meet Monday in college basketball action at the Kaplan Arena. The Navy Midshipmen are coming off a 21-win season. The William & Mary Tribe are coming off a 5-win season.

The Navy Midshipmen have won 20 or more games 10 times in school history. Tyler Nelson returns after averaging 8.6 points and 4.5 rebounds, while Daniel Deaver averaged 7.5 points and 2.1 assists. Patrick Dorsey played in 269 minutes last season, and Sean Yoder averaged 3.2 rebounds. The Navy Midshipmen lost some key names and their top-two players in John Carter Jr. and Greg Summers, but there’s enough role players coming back to be competitive in the Patriot. Navy has a roster of 8 seniors, so this is an experienced club that won’t be fazed most nights.

The William & Mary Tribe have won a combined 12 games the last 2 seasons. Ben Wight returns after averaging 11.6 points and 5.5 rebounds, while Tyler Rice averaged 7.5 points and 3.6 assists. Miguel Ayesa played in 164 minutes last season, and Jake Milkereit averaged 1.5 rebounds. The William & Mary Tribe lost a lot of players from last season, which may not be a bad thing given that they won only 5 games. Wight was the Tribe’s leading scorer from a year ago, and William & Mary can only hope for a second jump as he enters his third season. Still, it’s been a struggle these last two years for the school in Williamsburg, Virginia.

The Midshipmen are 19-7 ATS in their last 26 road games. The Tribe are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games overall. The over is 4-0 in Midshipmen last 4 overall. The over is 4-1 in Tribe last 5 Monday games.

The William & Mary Tribe lost a ton of production to the point they’re hard to trust early in the season. The Navy Midshipmen will have to find their go-to players, but they’re loaded with experienced role players who can carry the load early in the season. Navy’s experience should be able to win games this season. I’ll lay the chalk with the road team.
