The Furman Paladins and the Winthrop Eagles meet in college basketball action from Winthrop Coliseum on Tuesday night.
The Furman Paladins come into this one looking to add to a three-game winning streak following a 91-88 win over Charleston in their last matchup. Alex Hunter leads the Paladins in scoring with 17.6 PPG along with a team-high 4 APG to lead the way in assists while Mike Bothwell has 17.3 PPG with 4.1 RPG and Jalen Slawson’s got 17.1 PPG with a team-high 9.1 RPG to lead the Paladins on the glass and round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Furman so far this season. This is shaping up to be one of my favorite matchups on the board on Tuesday night, as these are two teams I’ve backed a fair bit this season and it’ll be interesting to see what happens when they duke it out. However, I’m expecting it to be a high-scoring affair as these are two teams that are not afraid to cut loose and let it fly and I think it’s no different here. This is a game that could easily fly into the 80s on both sides, so give me the over.
