The Mercer Bears come into this game looking to bounce back from a 74-61 loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks in their last game. Josh Corbin had 12 points with a pair of threes while Chase Claxton and Sincere McMahon each had 10 points with Claxton logging 7 rebounds while McMahon had 4 boards to cap off the scoring in double figures for Winthrop in the win. Drew Buggs also added a team-high 6 assists as well in the victory for the Eagles.

Winthrop is a solid team but it’s hard to get a feel for the Eagles after playing a subdivision team in their opener. On the other hand, Mercer started out well against Arkansas, but fell flat down the stretch. I think that something needs to be addressed in terms of Winthrop allowing 78 points to Mary Baldwin, and I think Mercer holds their own offensively here, giving us a game that comes in over the number.
