The Detroit Mercy Titans and the Milwaukee Panthers meet Tuesday in Horizon League Tournament college basketball action from UWM Panther Arena. Detroit is just 1-30 this year and coming off a loss to Oakland. As for Milwaukee, they beat Green Bay on Saturday to move to 17-14 so far. Let’s get into our Detroit vs. Milwaukee prediction. Detroit Titans

The Titans got off to a rough start this year—to put it mildly. Detroit lost their first 26 straight games before finally getting a win over IUPUI on Valentine’s Day. Since then the Titans have dropped four straight however, falling to Fort Wayne, Wright State, Youngstown State and Oakland.

In the Oakland game on Saturday, the Titans were looking good in the first half with a 35-31 edge. Detroit was outscored 44-35 the rest of the way however and lost 75-70. Top scorer Jayden Stone put up 19 points with seven rebounds and three steals in the defeat.

Milwaukee Panthers

Over on the Panthers’ side, they went 12-11 to start the year. Milwaukee would then hit a tough 2-3 run with losses to Youngstown State, Robert Morris and Youngstown State again. The Panthers have recovered with wins in each of their last three over Fort Wayne, IUPUI and Green Bay.

Matched up against Green Bay over the weekend, the Panthers were trailing 48-46 going into the second half. Milwaukee picked it up on a 44-21 run the rest of the way though and took the victory 90-69. BJ Freeman was the leading scorer with a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards.

ANDREW’S FREE DETROIT VS MILWAUKEE PREDICTION

I’ll take a stab on Detroit here. Probably not touching it in reality, though. The Titans got off to a solid start against a pretty good Oakland team in their last outing. They eventually shot a nice 48.9 percent from the field and 17-of-18 from the line but couldn’t power out the victory. Detroit has hit 69 or more points in four of their last five games; they’ll need to keep that run going in Tuesday’s matchup.

The Titans lost 84-61 at home on January 6 and 87-71 on the road on January 25 in the two meetings between these teams this year. Milwaukee should be plenty comfortable at home in the tournament matchup, but if all goes well for Detroit I think they can stay in cover range.
