The Chicago State Cougars and the Wisconsin Badgers meet Friday in college basketball action from Kohl Center. Chicago State is fresh off a Wednesday matchup versus Bethune-Cookman. In that one the Cougars eked out a thrilling one-point win. As for Wisconsin, they’re sitting at 8-3 so far following a win over Jacksonville State last week. Chicago State Cougars 

The Cougars got off to a sketchy 3-9 run in their first 12 games this year. The losses in that time came to Bowling Green, Mercer, CSU Northridge, Southern Illinois, Northern Colorado, TN-Martin, Loyola, Delaware State and St. Thomas MN. Chicago State beat Northwestern, Valparaiso and UTRGV in their next trio, though. 

In the Wednesday matchup versus Bethune-Cookman, the Cougars held a 30-29 edge going into the second half. Chicago State kept the pace from there and ended up with a 55-54 victory. Wesley Cardet was the team’s top scorer with his 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists. 

Wisconsin Badgers 

Over on the Badgers’ side, they lost two of their first three games to Tennessee and Providence this year. Wisconsin would bounce back with a win streak versus Robert Morris, Virginia, SMU, Western Illinois, Marquette and Michigan State before another loss to Arizona. 

Matched up against Jacksonville State last Thursday, the Badgers were able to get back into the win column. Wisconsin improved on a modest eight-point halftime lead with a 37-30 run in the second for a 75-60 win. Leading team scorer Steven Crowl put up 19 points with nine rebounds in 26 minutes of work. 

ANDREW’S FREE CHICAGO STATE VS WISCONSIN PREDICTION 

I’ll probably just stay with Wisconsin here. The Badgers weren’t completely overwhelming versus a struggling Jacksonville State team in their last matchup, but they got the job done. Wisconsin managed to shoot 47.3 percent from the field in that one with 33 rebounds and just eight turnovers. The Badgers are scoring pretty well lately with 70 or more points in each of the last five games. With another healthy total like that, Wisconsin should be in pretty good shape cover-wise on Friday.
