Wisconsin vs Minnesota 1/3/23 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Wisconsin Badgers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Kohl Center. Minnesota is currently 6-6 overall this year. The Gophers beat Chicago State in their last game. As for Wisconsin, they’re 10-2 on the season after a win versus Western Michigan. Minnesota went 4-2 over their first six games this year, costing to DePaul and UNLV along the way. Since then the Gophers are 2-4 with losses to Virginia Tech, Purdue, Michigan and Mississippi State during that stretch. 

In their matchup versus Chicago State way back on December 22, Minnesota held a 38-30 halftime lead. The Gophers were outscored 25-20 from there but held on for the 58-55 win. Dawson Garcia was tops on the team with 18 points. 

Over on the Wisconsin side, they were 6-2 over their first eight games, taking losses to Kansas and Wake Forest. The Badgers have since won four straight games versus Maryland, Iowa, Lehigh and Western Michigan. 

Back on Friday in the Western Michigan matchup, the Badgers went into the locker room with a two-point lead. Wisconsin hit a 47-39 run from there and won 76-66. Steven Crowl put up 25 points with eight rebounds. 

PICK I’ll probably stay with Wisconsin. The Badgers started a little slow versus Western Michigan in their last outing, however to their credit Wisconsin picked it up in the second half and got the win. Wisconsin has scored 76 or more points in three straight games and shouldn’t have too much trouble putting up points here either. As for Minnesota, they haven’t been on the court in quite a while (December 22) so it may take some time to find their rhythm. If Wisconsin plays well I don’t think they’ll have too many issues here.
