Wisconsin vs Western Michigan 12/30/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Western Michigan Broncos and the Wisconsin Badgers meet Friday in college basketball action from Kohl Center. Western Michigan is 4-8 on the year and coming off a win over Siena Heights. Western Michigan has victories over Goshen, Houston Christian, Concordia MI and Siena Heights this year. The losses have come versus Minnesota, Valparaiso, Rice, GA Southern, Cleveland State, Dayton, UIC and Iowa State. 

Last Wednesday versus Siena Heights, the Broncos posted a 27-8 halftime advantage. Western Michigan was able to cruise on a 34-33 run from there and won it 61-41. Owen Lobsinger was the lead scorer on 12 points with two rebounds. 

Over on the Wisconsin side, they’ve got losses to only Kansas and Wake Forest this year. Otherwise it’s been wins over South Dakota, Stanford, Green Bay, Dayton, USC, Marquette, Maryland, Iowa and Lehigh. 

Matched up against Lehigh on December 15, the Badgers trailed 32-31 at the break. Wisconsin surged on a 47-24 second-half advantage and took the comeback win 78-56. Steven Crowl was the top scorer with 15 points and five rebounds. 

PICK: I’m probably staying with Wisconsin. The line’s a little too thick to mess with, though. It’s been a while since we’ve seen the Badgers play (December 15) as they had a matchup versus Grambling State cancelled due to weather last Friday. So long as Wisconsin can get back into the swing of things early on in this one (and not post a bad first half like they did with Lehigh), they should be in complete control. Western Michigan hasn’t eclipsed 61 points in three straight games and will likely have a lot of trouble scoring in this one.
