The Chattanooga Mocs and the Wofford Terriers meet Sunday in Southern Conference Tournament action from US Cellular Center. Chattanooga sits at 17-16 overall this year. The Mocs upset Samford in their last outing. As for Wofford, they’re currently 17-15 after a tournament win over UNC Greensboro on Saturday. Chattanooga Mocs
Chattanooga managed a .500 run over their first 26 games this year at 13-13 overall. The Mocs went 2-3 to finish off the season, taking losses to UNCG, Samford and Wofford. Chattanooga beat VMI 92-72 in their first tournament game on Friday.
In the Saturday tournament matchup versus Samford, Chattanooga was ahead 42-37 going into the second half. The Mocs powered out a 45-43 run from there in an 85-82 victory. Jamal Johnson was the team’s top scorer with 25 points and four rebounds.
Wofford Terriers
Over on the Wofford side, their first 26 games were a 13-13 stretch. The Terriers finished off the regular season with a 3-2 run, beating Mercer, the Citadel and Chattanooga alongside losses to UNC Greensboro and VMI otherwise.
On Saturday in the UNC Greensboro matchup, Wofford fell behind 36-31 going into the second half. The Terriers hit a 36-30 run from there and won 67-66. BJ Mack scored 16 points with eight rebounds and both Messiah Jones and Jackson Paveletzke scored 14 points each.

I’ll probably stick with Wofford. You could make a good case for the Mocs as well, though. The Terriers played a great game versus a tough UNCG opponent on Saturday, and Wofford has now scored 67 or more points in eight straight outings. The Terriers won both games between these teams this year. First came an 85-80 result on January 25 at McKenzie Arena, then an 86-74 game at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium back on February 25. Chattanooga has hit 70 or more points in nine straight themselves, so this one should be a close, high-scoring finish if both teams are on.
