Richmond posted a 3-3 run over their first six games, alternating wins with losses. The victories were over NC Central, Georgia State and Hofstra; the losses came courtesy of Utah State, Drake and Maryland.
In game seven versus Mississippi State, Richmond had a first-half hole but climbed back with a 37-30 edge in the second half. After overtime the Spiders ended up losing 82-71. Tyler Burton put up 23 points with seven rebounds to lead the way.
Over on the Wofford side, they’ve only got two losses on the slate this year. Those came to Clemson and South Carolina. Otherwise it’s been wins over Bob Jones, Erskine, Hampton, GA Southern and Georgia for the Terriers.
In the Georgia matchup, Wofford posted a 36-32 advantage in the second half during a 68-65 win. Top scorer Max Klesmit put up 17 points with three rebounds, and BJ Mack added 16 points with four rebounds and two assists.
The Terriers are 4-1 ATS in their last five at home and 1-6 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games. The under is 7-3 in Wofford’s last 10 overall.
Meanwhile, the Spiders are 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six Wednesday games. The over is 5-1 in Richmond’s last six overall.
PICK: I’m going to try Wofford in this one. The Terriers pulled out a gutsy win over Georgia in their last tame despite shooting a tepid 39 percent from the floor and getting out-rebounded 32-29. Wofford controlled the ball well in the victory, with a 19-8 turnover advantage and 88.2 percent from the line.
As for Richmond, they played well in the second half against Mississippi State but ultimately couldn’t seal it up. This one should be a pretty fun matchup, but I like the Terriers better on a cover.
