The Samford Bulldogs and the Wofford Terriers meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. Samford is sitting at 11-4 so far and coming off a win over Western Carolina. As for Wofford, they’re 9-7 this year and lost to UNC Greensboro in their last game. Samford posted a nice 10-2 run over their first dozen games this year. The Bulldogs lost to only San Francisco and Belmont in that time. After losses to Furman and Mercer, Samford bounced back with a win over Western Carolina.
In Saturday’s game versus Western Carolina, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 51-35 halftime lead and never looked back in an 85-60 win. Wesley Cardet led the way on 18 points, and Jermaine Marshall added a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards.
Over on the Wofford side, they started off at 8-6 this year with losses to Clemson, South Carolina, Richmond, Coastal Carolina, VMI and Chattanooga. After a win over East Tennessee State, the Terriers lost to UNC Greensboro.
In the UNC Greensboro game on Monday, the Terriers had a 28-18 lead at halftime. Wofford was outscored 40-26 from there and fell 58-54 in a tough one. BJ Mack led the team on 18 points, and Ryan Larson added 11 points with three boards.
The Terriers are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 Wednesday games and 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss. The over is 56-27 in Wofford’s last 83 at home.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 Wednesday games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six road games. The under is 7-1 in Samford’s last eight after an ATS win.
PICK: I’m sticking with Samford. The Bulldogs have been a mixed bag as far as results lately. They’ve been scoring well, however; Samford has hit 75 or more points in four of their last five games. As for Wofford, they’ve been at 68 points or below in each of their last three outings and had a bad second half against UNC Greensboro. If Samford is on point, I think they’ll be able to keep up here.
