Wright State vs Wisconsin-Green Bay Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/28/23

The Green Bay Phoenix and the Wright State Raiders meet Saturday in college basketball action from Nutter Center. Green Bay is coming off a Thursday game versus Northern Kentucky. In that one the Phoenix lost by 18 points. As for Wright State, they played Milwaukee in their Thursday matchup. The Raiders went on to win by seven. Green Bay Phoenix

The Phoenix managed to go just 2-14 over their first 16 games this year. Green Bay beat only IUPUI and UMKC during that time. The Phoenix lost their next five to Cleveland State, Wright State, Youngstown State and Robert Morris. 

On Thursday versus Northern Kentucky, Green Bay took a 31-26 deficit into the locker room. The Phoenix didn’t end up getting any closer in an eventual 68-50 loss. Cade Meyer was the top team scorer with 16 points and eight rebounds. 

Wright State Raiders 

Over on the Wright State side, they lost to Davidson, UC Riverside, Robert Morris, Youngstown State, Western Kentucky, Akron and Northern Kentucky in their first 16 outings. The Raiders hit a 2-3 run after that with wins over Green Bay and Milwaukee. 

In their Thursday rematch versus Milwaukee, the Raiders were up 47-26 going into the second half. Wright State was outscored 60-46 from there but still won it 93-86. Alex Huibregtse led the way on 25 points with six boards. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll probably stick with Wright State in this one. The line’s probably a little too thick to mess with, though. These teams met up once already on January 12 at Resch Center. That one turned into a 99-67 blowout win for the Raiders thanks to 57 second-half points. The Raiders are just 2-2 since then but they’ve maintained a nice scoring pace. As for Green Bay, they’ve got just 88 combined points over their last two outings. I’m thinking this rematch will be similar to the last game: a blowout win for Wright State.
