Wyoming vs Boise State 2/3/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Boise State Broncos and the Wyoming Cowboys meet Thursday in college basketball action from Arena-Auditorium. Boise State holds a 17-4 record so far. The Broncos beat Fresno State in OT during their last outing. As for Wyoming, they’re 17-3 on the year and coming off an OT win over Colorado State. Boise State went a spotty 3-4 in their first seven games but it’s been all wins from there. The Broncos have beaten Tulsa, CSUN, Prairie View, Santa Clara, Montana Tech, Washington State, Fresno State, Nevada, New Mexico, Air Force, Utah State, San Diego State, Wyoming and Fresno State since then. 

Last Friday versus Fresno State, the Broncos lost a four-point halftime lead and needed overtime to take out the Bulldogs 68-63. Leading the scoring was Emmanuel Akot with 16 points, seven boards and five assists.

Over on the Wyoming side, they went 9-2 over their first 11 games. The Cowboys have gone 8-1 since with victories versus Northern Iowa, South Florida, Utah State, Nevada, San Jose State, New Mexico, Air Force and Colorado State. 

On Monday versus Colorado State, Wyoming went punch-for-punch the whole way and ended up with a hard-fought 84-78 victory. Hunter Maldonado was the top scorer, posting 35 points, three rebounds and seven assists in the win. 

The Cowboys are 15-7 ATS in their last 22 Thursday games and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 after an ATS win. Wyoming is 17-7-1 ATS in their last 25 overall.
Meanwhile, the Broncos are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Thursday games and 5-2 ATS in the last seven after an ATS win. Boise State is 9-3 ATS in the last 12 overall.

PICK: I’m going to try Boise State here. You could make a case either way in this one, though; it should be another close matchup. The last time these teams met back on January 25, Boise State emerged with a 65-62 home victory. Both teams shot over 42.3 percent in that one, and Wyoming had a slim 30-27 rebounding advantage. 

This rematch should be a tough fight the whole way. If the Broncos can keep the momentum going early on in this intimidating road game, I think they’ll be alright on a cover. Probably staying away from this one in reality, though. It’s going to be close.
