The New Mexico Lobos and the Wyoming Cowboys meet in college basketball action from the Arena-Auditorium on Saturday afternoon.

The New Mexico Lobos will try to remain unbeaten after an 88-69 win over Colorado State in their last matchup. Jaelen House has 17.2 PPG with 3.6 RPG and 5.3 APG to lead the Lobos in the scoring and assist departments while Morris Udeze has 16.9 PPG along with 7.8 RPG while Jamal Mashburn Jr. has 16.9 PPG with 3.3 RPG to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for New Mexico this season. Josiah Allick also has a team-high 7.8 RPG to lead New Mexico on the glass this season. As a team, New Mexico is averaging 84.8 PPG on 49.3% shooting from the field, 36.1% from three and 73.5% from the foul line this season.

The Wyoming Cowboys will be out to snap a three-game losing streak after a 58-53 loss to Fresno State in their last matchup. Noah Reynolds leads Wyoming in scoring with 14.8 PPG while Hunter Maldonado has 12.3 PPG and a team-high 3.8 APG to lead the Cowboys in assists as the only other double-digit scorer for Wyoming up to this point in the season. Hunter Thompson also has a team-high 5.1 RPG as well for the Cowboys on the glass this season. As a team, Wyoming is averaging 70.5 PPG on 44.7% shooting from the field, 33.5% from behind the arc and 69.4% from the foul line this season.

New Mexico is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 16-7-1 ATS in their last 24 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. Wyoming is 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 home games and 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 games overall while the under is 9-2 in their last 11 home games.

I get the case to be made on either side in this game, but I’m backing the Lobos in this one. New Mexico’s just the far better team and far more consistent offense and simply put, I need more points if I were to consider Wyoming even in the home underdog role. The Lobos have earned the respect in this spot so give me New Mexico here.
