The Dartmouth Big Green and the Yale Bulldogs meet Friday in college basketball action from Lee Amphitheater. Dartmouth is sitting at 5-12 so far this year. The Green beat Columbia in their last outing. As for Yale, they’re 10-9 on the season and coming off a win over Princeton. Dartmouth posted a 3-9 run over their first dozen this year, beating only Georgetown, NVU-Lyndon and Bryant. Since then it’s been a 2-3 run with losses to Penn, Harvard and Princeton between wins over Brown and Columbia.

In the Columbia game last weekend, the Green scored 35 points in the first half and 41 more in the second for a solid 76-63 win. Tops on the team was Aaryn Rai with 20 points. Brendan Barry added 13 points with four rebounds and one assist.

Over on the Yale side, they hit a 6-7 run to open the season. The Bulldogs played just one game between December 14 and January 15 (a loss), but have gone 4-1 since. The wins in that time have been over Cornell, Brown, Columbia and Princeton.

Matched up against Princeton back on Saturday, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 43-26 lead in the first half and were able to hang on for the 80-74 win. Leading scorer Matt Knowling put up 17 points and Bez Mbeng doubled with 10 points and 10 boards.

Yale is 15-7-1 ATS in their last 23 Friday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven at home. The Bulldogs are 1-8 ATS in their last nine after an ATS win.

Meanwhile, the Green are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and the under is 7-3 in their last 10 Friday games. The over is 4-1 in Dartmouth’s last five after a straight-up win.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Yale here. The Bulldogs posted a nice 51.9 percent shooting with 37 rebounds in their last outing versus Princeton, and they’re doing well over this 4-1 stretch. Yale has hit 68 or more points in four of those five games and they seem to have found a good rhythm. I like Dartmouth to hang around for a while here but it should be Yale’s cover to take.
