The Louisville Cardinals and Pitt Panthers square off Saturday in a week 8 ACC college football game from Cardinal Stadium.

The Pitt Panthers will be out to build on their 45-29 win over Virginia Tech last time out to improve to 4-2 on the year. Kedon Slovis has thrown for 1,167 yards, 5 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 61.5% passing while Israel Abanikanda has a team-high 830 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns and Vincent Davis also has 231 rushing yards this season. Jared Wayne leads Pitt’s receiving group with 390 receiving yards while Konata Mumpfield and Gavin Bartholomew each have 200+ receiving yards this season. On defense, SirVocea Dennis has a team-high 41 total tackles with 4 sacks while Solomon DeShields and Calijah Kancey each have 3 sacks. Erick Hallett II has 3 interceptions as well on the year.

The Louisville Cardinals will look to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their six games so far this year after a 34-17 win over Virginia on the road last time out. Malik Cunningham’s thrown for 968 yards, 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 62.2% passing while also rushing for a team-high 457 yards and 9 scores. Brock Domann has also thrown for 367 yards, a touchdown and 3 INTs on 50% passing. Tiyon Evans has 263 rushing yards and 3 TDs this season while Jawhar Jordan and Trevion Cooley each have 200+ rushing yards as well this season. Tyler Hudson has a team-high 29 grabs for 413 yards and Ahmari Higgins-Bruce has 318 receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Kenderick Duncan leads the Cardinals with 37 total tackles including 27 solo tackles while Benjamin Perry also has 20 solo tackles and YaYa Diaby and Ashton Gillotte each have 4 sacks. As a unit, Louisville has 22 sacks and 8 interceptions this season.

Pitt is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a win while the over is 8-2 in their last 10 October games. Louisville is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a win while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games following an ATS win.

I get the reasoning for backing either side here, but I’m looking at the over. Pitt has really been lighting it up offensively pretty much all year long, scoring 27+ in five of their six games while Louisville’s hit 31+ despite the in and out status of Malik Cunningham. I think this has potential to see both teams hit the 30s here, so I’ll side with the over in this one.
