I’ll stay with Appalachian State in this one. The Mountaineers are coming off a nice comeback road victory against LA-Monroe, however there are plenty of areas that need improvement. The Mountaineers posted 536 yards (201 rushing), 7.1 yards per play and 28 first downs in the win, however the team also had four turnovers (two fumbles) and gave up 7.0 yards per play on the other side. Still, App State has scored 34 or more points in four of five games this year and should hang a nice total in this one.
As for Coastal Carolina, they had some rough statistical areas in their last game as well, such as the four interceptions, 10 penalties for 110 yards and 438 yards allowed on the way to the loss. The Chanticleers have been scoring pretty well this year themselves, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a big total here. I like App State better on the cover, though.
