The Arizona Wildcats and the Arizona State Sun Devils meet Friday in college football action from Sun Devil Stadium. Here’s an Arizona State vs Arizona prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Arizona State vs Arizona pick.
Arizona Wildcats Betting Preview
The Wildcats began their run this year with a string of three straight wins. Those came courtesy of Hawaii, Weber State and Kansas State in succession. Arizona faltered from there on a 1-3 run over the next four games, beating only Oklahoma State in that time. Otherwise the losses came versus Iowa State, BYU and Houston. The Wildcats got it going again with victories in the next three outings however, taking out Colorado, Kansas and Cincinnati in succession during that trio.
On Saturday versus Baylor, the Wildcats trailed by a field goal going into the half. Arizona outscored the Bears 27-0 from there however, resulting in a nice win 41-17. QB Noah Fifita had 183 yards with a TD and a pick on 14-of-25 passing and Ismail Mahdi had 14 carries for 93 yards and a score. Kris Hutson added nine grabs for 133 yards and a touchdown in the victory effort for the Wildcats.
Arizona State Sun Devils Betting Preview
Over on the Arizona State side, they opened with a win over Northern Arizona, then quickly fell by four to Mississippi State in game two. The next three were all wins, as the Sun Devils dispatched Texas State, Baylor and TCU. A 1-2 stretch ensued next with a win over Texas Tech sandwiched in between losses to Utah and Houston. The next pair of outings were both wins for the Sun Devils as they took out Iowa State on November 1 and followed that up with a victory over West Virginia on November 15.
Last weekend versus Colorado, the Sun Devils held an early deficit after the first quarter but quickly recovered. Arizona State ended up scoring in every quarter (including double-digits in the second and 21 in the fourth) during a 41-17 blowout win. QB Jeff Sims finished with 206 yards, two scores and a pick on 11-of-24 passing while Raleek Brown had a nice run day on 22 carries for 255 yards and a score. Derek Eusebio had four catches for 87 yards and a touchdown in the victory effort as well.

Arizona State vs Arizona Prediction
I’ll stick with Arizona State. This should be a fun matchup though, with both teams coming off nice wins last weekend. The Sun Devils lumped 580 yards on Colorado in their victory, along with a whopping 355 rush yards, 8.2 yards per play and 23 first downs. There’s plenty to clean up on offense though, like the 3-of-13 on third downs and the four turnovers (three fumbles). Defensively Arizona State took care of business with 300 yards, 4.3 yards per play, 12 first downs and 5-of-18 on third-downs allowed. Since their 16-point dud in the home loss to Houston, Arizona State has 24 or more points in three straight outings.
As for Arizona, they did pretty well against Baylor last weekend but it took the Wildcats a while to get going. Arizona managed 355 yards total with 5.9 yards per play and 22 first downs but went a tepid 4-of-10 on third downs and had nine penalties. The defense did pretty well on the other side with three takeaways. Arizona is now on a four-game win streak with 30 or more points in three of those. Should be a good one this weekend.
