The Arkansas State Red Wolves and the Arkansas Razorbacks meet Saturday in college football action from War Memorial Stadium. Here’s an Arkansas vs Arkansas State prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Arkansas vs Arkansas State pick.
Arkansas State Red Wolves Betting Preview
Last year the Red Wolves had a decent run overall, finishing 8-5 overall with a 5-3 result in the Sun Belt games. Arkansas State would land in third place among the West Division of the conference with that result, behind only Louisiana and Texas State. The Red Wolves weren’t really able to get on a winning run at any point in the season, as they failed to win more than two consecutive games. Still, Arkansas State earned a spot in the 68 Ventures Bowl, where they took out Bowling Green in a thriller 38-31 on the day after Christmas.
Arkansas State got off to their 2025 season with a matchup versus Southeast Missouri State last weekend. In that one the Red Wolves were all tied up 7-7 after the first quarter, then surged on 21 points in the second during an eventual 42-24 victory. Arkansas State scored in every quarter in the win. QB Jaylen Raynor logged 345 yards and three scores on 26-of-32 passing, while Devin Spencer led the rush with just three totes for 42 yards and a TD of his own. Chauncy Cobb caught five balls for 85 yards to lead the receivers.
Arkansas Razorbacks Betting Preview
Over on the Arkansas side, they’re coming off a pretty up-and-down season but things ended well at least. The Razorbacks would go 7-6 overall and 3-5 amid a tough Southeastern Conference. That run was only good enough to finish above Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Auburn, Kentucky and Mississippi State in the SEC standings. It’s worth noting, however, that each of Arkansas’ six losses came versus a ranked team. In their final outing against Texas Tech in the Liberty Bowl, the Razorbacks powered out a 39-26 victory on December 27.
Matched up against Alabama A&M in their 2025 opener, the Razorbacks had no trouble at all. Arkansas was up 31-7 by halftime, bagging points in every quarter along the way to a 52-7 blowout win. The Razorbacks’ Taylen Green notched a ridiculous six TD passes on 24-of-31 for 322 yards. Mike Washington added nine carries for 79 yards as the team’s top rusher, and O’Mega Blake had seven grabs for 121 yards and a receiving score.

Arkansas vs Arkansas State Prediction
I’ll likely take a stab on Arkansas State here, but you could easily make a case the other way. The Red Wolves didn’t have too many issues with Southeast Missouri State in their opener and logged some pretty nice numbers. Arkansas State had 492 offensive yards (345 passing), 25 first downs and 7.2 yards per play. The 5-of-11 on third-down tries and seven penalties could have been a little sharper, though. In any case, it was a pretty well-rounded effort for the Red Wolves’ first time out. This weekend’s matchup will be a huge step up in difficulty, though.
As for Arkansas, they did pretty much whatever they wanted to during their opener versus an overmatched Alabama A&M squad. The Razorbacks had 552 yards (358 passing), 7.3 yards per play, 29 first downs, no turnovers and a nice 9-of-14 on third-down tries. On defense Arkansas gave up just 235 yards (166 passing), 12 first downs and 1-of-12 on third downs. The two fumble recoveries (versus zero turnovers on offense) were quite helpful as well. Arkansas should be pretty comfortable in this matchup, and it’ll be a fun little rivalry game for the weekend. The Razorbacks are obviously in the driver’s seat, but I think the Red Wolves can get in there if all goes well.
