The Texas Longhorns and the Arkansas Razorbacks will meet Saturday in college football action from Razorback Stadium. Here’s an Arkansas vs Texas prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Arkansas vs Texas pick.

Texas Longhorns Betting Preview

Texas started out the year with six straight wins, taking out Colorado State, Michigan, UTSA, LA-Monroe, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma. After a 30-15 loss to a great Georgia team, the Longhorns recovered with a win over Vanderbilt the next week.

Matched up against Florida last weekend, the Longhorns jumped out to a 35-0 halftime lead in an eventual win of 49-17. Quinn Ewers posted 333 pass yards with five scores. Jerrick Gibson led the rushing attack with 16 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown of his own.

Arkansas Razorbacks Betting Preview

Over on the Arkansas side, they won three of their first four games over AR-Pine Bluff, UAB, and Auburn. The next four games were a 2-2 run with losses to Texas A&M and LSU mixed among wins over Tennessee and Mississippi State.

Back on November 2 versus Ole Miss, the Razorbacks fell back into the loss column. Arkansas gave up 28 points in the second quarter and 21 in the third during a 63-31 blowout. Malachi Singleton threw for 207 yards and a score, while Andrew Armstrong led the receivers on six grabs for 135 yards.

Why the Arkansas Razorbacks will win

  • Arkansas has covered the spread in 10 of its last 12 November games as an underdog against top-15 AP-ranked teams.

Why the Texas Longhorns will win

  • Texas has won each of its last 18 games against non-AP-ranked teams.
  • Arkansas has lost 11 of its last 12 November games against AP-ranked teams.
  • Arkansas has failed to cover the spread in nine of its last 10 games at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
  • Texas has covered the spread in six of its last seven November games against non-AP-ranked teams.
  • Texas has won the first half in 11 of its last 12 games against conference opponents.
  • Texas has won the first quarter in 13 of its last 17 games against conference opponents.

Total Points Facts

  • Each of Arkansas’ last seven games in November has gone OVER the total points line.
  • Each of Texas’ last four road games against non-AP-ranked teams has gone UNDER the total points line.

Arkansas vs Texas Prediction

I’ll probably just stay with Texas. The Longhorns made short work of Florida over the weekend, bagging 562 total yards (352 passing), 8.8 yards per play, and 23 first downs. The defense came up with three takeaways and held the Gators to 329 yards (132 passing) total. Texas is on a good run now with consecutive wins following the Georgia loss.

As for Arkansas, they’re coming off a rough loss but have had some extra time to rest and prep for this one. The Razorbacks gave up a whopping 694 yards (562 passing) to Ole Miss along with 9.1 yards per play, 30 first downs, and 6-of-12 on third-down tries. Arkansas lost a couple of fumbles and went a spotty 5-of-12 on third downs themselves. The 10 penalties didn’t help, either. Arkansas has another tough matchup this weekend and I don’t think they’ll quite get into a cover if Texas plays to their capabilities.
